This qualification is aimed at producing employees who manage traffic through and/or past a roadwork site. Duties would include directing traffic with a stop/slow bat or similar control device and also setting up and working with Traffic Control Guidance Plans in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans.

To work as a Traffic Guidance Officer in NSW, it is a Roads and Maritime Services requirement that you hold a current Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Management Plans photo card. Photo cards are valid for 3 years.

Men At Work Training & Assessment is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and as such, we are responsible for the quality of the training and assessment in compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, and for the issuance of AQF certification documentation.

On Completion On completion of this course, successful participants will be provided with a Statement of Completion. Participants will then be provided with a Statement of Attainment and RMS issued cards within 3 weeks of the course date.

Requirements
  • Participants must be 16 years of age or over.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is to be worn (this is not provided by Men At Work Training & Assessment). This includes steel capped boots, long pants, long sleeved shirt and wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Hi-visibility vests will be provided.
  • Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry White Card
  • Current or previously held full driver’s licence.
  • 12 months demonstrated experience Controlling Traffic with a Stop Slow Bat. Copy of expiring card.
