This qualification will enable you to create Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) as well as to design, select & modify Traffic Control Guidance Plans (TCGPs) and to conduct inspections. TCGPs are also known as Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) or Traffic Control Plans (TCPs).

To Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plans in NSW it is a Safework NSW requirement that you hold a current Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan competency card.

Career Outcomes This course is appropriate for those working in a management role or as a technical specialist, preparing and documenting work zone traffic management plans within civil construction.
On Completion Successful participants will be given a Statement of Completion on completion of the course. They will then receive Safework NSW issued cards and a Statement of Attainment.
Description This course covers the preparation, documentation and completion of work zone traffic management plans in Civil Construction. It includes detailed requirements for developing and designing TCGP’s (TCP’s) site inspections and compliance documents associated with traffic control at worksites.
Cancellation Cancellation fees apply if enrolments are cancelled 3 or less business days prior to the start date of the course.

  • Participants must be 17 years of age or over.
  • Participants must provide evidence of either; a minimum 12 months demonstrated industry experience in both Traffic Control and Implementing Traffic Control Plans or a minimum 12 months demonstrated industry experience in Road Works and Traffic Management or hold a current Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan photo card.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is to be worn (this is not provided by Men At Work Training & Assessment). This includes steel capped boots, long pants, long sleeved shirt and wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Hi-visibility vests will be provided.
