Manual Handling

Identifying hazardous manual tasks is a critical skill required in any workplace. Whether you are required to stack shelves, work on a conveyer line or perform data entry using a computer, most job roles will involve carrying out some form of manual handling.

The risks associated with hazardous manual handling are high. Workers need to be able to adequately assess these risks to ensure they can be adequately eliminated or minimised to avoid significant injuries. This course is highly recommended for anyone who is required to perform manual handling in the workplace.

Career Outcomes This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to lift and move materials manually and/or use basic manual handling equipment in a wide range of environments.
On Completion Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
Description The course covers:

  • Understanding of manual handlings tasks and possible causes of injuries
  • Identifying, assessing and controlling manual handling tasks
  • Understanding the legal requirements for Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) and workers
  • Principles of safe manual handling
