The Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck course provided by Men At Work Training & Assessment informs participants about the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift. The unit of competency delivered is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

Participants will gain the skills and knowledge required to check forklift condition, drive the forklift to fulfil operational requirements, monitor site conditions and monitor and maintain forklift performance.

Men At Work Training & Assessment is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and as such, we are responsible for the quality of the training and assessment in compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, and for the issuance of AQF certification documentation.

Career Outcomes This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely. A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck high risk work (HRW) licence.
On Completion Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and an application for a WorkCover NSW High Risk Work Licence. *Note, there is a fee for this and this is payable by you, fees can be located here.
Applying for a High Risk Work Licence The assessor will have the application forms ready after participants have completed their training and assessment.
Successful participants will then take those forms to their nearest Australia Post office as well as 100 points of ID. Participants will also need to bring with them a passport sized and quality photo of themselves with their name and date of birth printed on the back. Application fees are detailed at safework.nsw.gov.au.
Cancellation Cancellation fees apply if enrolments are cancelled 3 or less days prior to the start date of the course.

Requirements
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or over
  • Training and assessment must be completed in English (no interpreters or outside assistance can be used during the licence assessment)
  • Training and assessment must be completed in the state that is your principal place of residence
  • Appropriate clothing including hi-visibility shirt/vest and covered shoes or boots are required<
