The aim of this course is to provide HSRs, HSC Members and employees with knowledge and skills relating to:

  • WHS Act legislative framework
  • The role and functions of SafeWork and their interaction with HSRs
  • Duties and responsibilities of PCBUs, Officers, Workers and other parties
  • The nature of the consultation process with workers as required by the PCBU
  • The safe work approach to work health and safety issues
  • Election process for HSRs and disqualification provisions
  • Health and Safety Committees (HSCs)
  • The entitlements, rights and protections of an elected HSR
  • Risk management and the use of risk controls
