EWPA Yellow Card Training (EWP under 11 metres)

The WHS Act 2011 states that persons conducting a business or undertaking must provide information, training or supervision that is necessary to protect persons from health and safety risks arising from work carried out under the business or undertaking.

This 1-day training course is designed for candidates who are required to carry out duties using elevating work platforms (under 11 metres). This course provides training in the safe use of various elevating work platforms.

Delivery Mode Classroom based, Face-to-face training including theory and practical observation/demonstration and assessment.

Additional practical observations can be completed for extra licence classes for an additional fee if required.

Career Outcomes On successful completion of this course candidates will be licenced to operate EWPs (under 11 metres) for the associated licence classe/s (completed by the candidate) within Australia.

The Yellow Card can be completed for the following classes depending on your requirement for work:

  • Vertical Lift (VL)
  • Scissor Lift (SL)
  • Self-propelled Boom Lift under 11m (BL)
  • Truck Mounted Boom Lift under 11m (TM)
On Completion Successful participants will be issued with an interim certificate on the day which will act as proof of completion until their EWPA Yellow Card arrives.
Description This course covers the following aspects for operation of EWPs under 11 metres:

  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and control
  • Use of fall arrest harnesses including inspection
  • Safe operation referencing compliance plates and manufacturers instructions
  • Conducting pre and post operational checks
  • Operation of the EWP
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Communicating and effectively working with others when operating
Cancellation Cancellation fees apply if enrolments are cancelled 3 or less days prior to the start date of the course.
Requirements Candidates must:

  • be 18 years of age. Operating restrictions apply to those under 18 years of age.
  • be able to speak and understand English (as use of interpreters is not permissible for this course)
  • have the ability to read and understand technical information
  • wear appropriate clothing including steel cap boots, hi visibility workwear and hardhat
  • provide photo identification.

  • Do you have any physical or mental barriers that will affect your ability to participate in the training and how can we amend our delivery to ensure that you are able to complete the training?
  • Have you held a Yellow Card previously? If so, these require renewal every 5 years.
