This qualification is aimed at producing employees who manage traffic through and/or past a roadwork site. Duties would include directing traffic with a stop/slow bat or similar control device in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans.

To work as a Traffic Controller in NSW, it is an Roads and Maritime Services requirement that you hold a current Traffic Controller photo card. Photo cards are valid for 3 years.

Requirements
  • Participants must be 16 years of age or over.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is to be worn (this is not provided by Men At Work Training & Assessment). This includes steel capped boots, long pants, long sleeved shirt and wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. Hi-visibility vests will be provided.
  • Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry White Card
  • Current or previously held full driver’s licence.
